Musician Prince was found dead in his Minneapolis home on Thursday April 21, 2016. The shocking death of the beloved musical icon has fans all over the world questioning the cause of his death and his health prior to his passing.

Jim Olsen the County Sheriff of Carver County in Minnesota said in a news conference that “’Prince’s body had no signs of violence when he was found unresponsive Thursday morning in an elevator at Paisley Park, his estate in suburban Minneapolis, and there was nothing to suggest it was suicide’” (The Associated Press).

According to the article, “Prince’s Death Raises Numerous Questions about Prior Health,” the County Sheriff also mentioned that Prince appeared to be alone on Thursday morning when Prince’s body was found by his staff members who came to the estate to check in on him after they couldn’t reach him by phone. The emergency workers who responded to the 911 call were not able to revive Prince.

Shortly after the star’s death, TMZ made a report claiming that his death was caused from an overdose of the powerful painkiller, Percocet. TMZalso claimed he had an overdose of Percocet while on a plane home from Atlanta the week before and the suspected overdose was the reason for the plane’s emergency landing in Moline, Illinois.

Many fans are curious if his childhood epilepsy and his childhood seizures played a part in his death. The star had previously complained about hip trouble from the years of performing on stage with high heels.

Prince’s cousin, Chazz Smith, claimed that his cousin always lived a healthy life even as a child. The Associated Press noted, “Smith said ‘Prince swore off drugs and alcohol as a kid, and the group they played with saw a lot of music greats fall, so “we decided to never get into that stuff, and no one did.'”
Weeks before his death, the singer had canceled shows in Atlanta for unknown reasons. At the makeup concerts, fans noted that he had coughed several times throughout. Also, at one concert he had disappeared off the stage and when he returned, Prince claimed the songs got him very emotional. Both makeup shows maintained Prince’s famous energy and had the crowd rocking with the numerous encores.

At this time, the cause for the singer’s unexpected death at the age of 57 is still unknown. Fans all over the world have been mourning and honoring the artist by listening and dancing to his classic hits.
