NHL PLAYOFFS

By EDMUND GRECO

Currently in the 2018 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals, the Washington Capitals lead the Las Vegas Golden Knights 3-1.

There are still three games to be played in the series. The Las Vegas Golden Knights won the first game of the series, creating historic confidence for the first year team. However, the Golden Knights have fell behind in the series to the Capitols. According to Michelle Martinelli, the Capitals have history on their side, as teams that get up 3-1 in the Finals have a 32-1 chance of winning the Championship, historically speaking.

It’s not over yet though, as Vegas has something to fight for. They have the potential to be the first NHL expansion team to win a championship and to do so in their first year in the league.

Monday’s game saw the Capitols outscoring the Golden Knights 6-2 in a decisive victory.

In order for the Knights to comeback in the finals, they are going to have to muster up all the confidence they have to make something big happen. This is not impossible, as shown by other sporting events, such as the 2017 NFL Superbowl, where the New England Patriots came back from a 25-point deficit.

This series still has a lot to be told and could still go either way.
