Senior Stress
By Ellie Georgioudakis
The first month of senior year can be really stressful for many students. There is so much to think about and do all at once. Seniors have to keep up with hard classes, finish homework, and still make time for sports, clubs, or jobs.
On top of that, they have to start thinking about college — writing essays, filling out applications, and meeting deadlines. It can feel like there are not enough hours in the day to get everything done. Many students also feel pressure to do well because this is their last year of high school, and they want to end it on a good note. All of these tasks add up to make the beginning of senior year feel overwhelming and tiresome.
Even though it’s stressful, seniors find ways to handle it. Some make schedules or to-do lists to stay organized, while others talk to friends or family when they need help. Many students stay up late studying, share tips with classmates, or take breaks to relax and have fun.
It’s a lot of work, but seniors learn to manage their time and push through the hard days. They start to realize that they are stronger and more capable than they thought. The first month might be tough, but it also teaches them important lessons about responsibility and balance that will help them in college and beyond.
